JOURNEYMAN JOB DESCRIPTION Level I Level II (can complete projects) Level III (understands all special coatings)
Leads and/or guides/teaches the work of lower level painters, provides training and monitors performance
ABILITIES:- Able to prepare surfaces as directed by lead/supervisor
- Good manual dexterity
- Able to organize tools, supplies, and sundries
- Ability to understand and follow directions
- Use and maintain brushes, roller covers, tools and other equipment as required
- Perform general set-up and clean-up at job site
- Able to lift and move ladders and 5-gal paint buckets
- Ability to read, understand and follow safety procedures
- Helps to train/teach helpers and apprentices in all aspects of the painting/drywall industry
- Able to analyze situations (coating systems/surface prepping systems) accurately and adopt an effective course of action
- Understands and manages "paperwork"
- Organizes job requirements and properly sequences work to be completed
- Good understanding and knowledge of spray equipment and techniques of multiple materials
- Good understanding and knowledge of surface prep, equipment and procedures

REQUIREMENTS:- Driver License, registered vehicle with insurance for transportation to and from jobs
- Owns and carries required SPS hand tools
- Attends continuing education classes
- CPR/First Aid Certification
- Has mastered all aspects of HELPER and APPRENTICE levels
